How to get healthy nails?

I have nails that I love to grow long but they break really easily, is there some kind of clear nail polish i can put on that some one knows that will actually work? How to get healthy nails?
Ok I know this is going tosound totally out there but you asked and I wil share my sercet.

When I was younger I worked on a race track grooming and hot walking horses. One of the things I needed to do each day was to apply hoof grow to there hoofes to keep them stronge. What happen that year I foudn out was it also worked on my nails too. My nails are always long now you can find hoof grow at tack shops, Petsmart and Walmart pet dept too. It is a big container just use it twice a day I do mine when I get out of the shower then before going to bed. Also get yourself a 4 sided nail buffer and emery boards too. File you nails lightly only going one direction and buff you nails twice a week. Also if you work outside or with anything that will cause your nails to get really dirty take a bar of soap and make your nails make marks into it so that you have the soap under your nails this does two things one makes it harder to break your nails and also will make it easier to clean them afterwares too. Also another thing is if your nail gets a crack or soft split (doesn't break off completely) you can put a drop of crazy glue on the end with a little tissue (thinlayer that is)of the break or flake and buff it smooth. This way it you will strength the nail and it should grow out and not break on you. Also if you wear nail polish rememeber it is important to clean the polish off your nails every couple of and let your nails breath it will make them healthier. I hope this helps.

Good luck. How to get healthy nails?
Nail hardener! But maybe you need more vitamin A and D and Calcium
Yeah, nail strengtheners, and hardeners work to some degree - usually, but its no guarantee for long healthy nails. Eat right, take vitamins for hair and nails, wear gloves while doing cleaning or the dishes, just take good care of them. Keep the fre edge filed and shaped nicely. A good cuticle oil also helps to nourish both the natural nail and the cuticle area as well. I recommend Creative Nail Design's Solar Oil. Look in drugstores for it (About $9.00 for a 1/2 oz. bottle). Use twice daily, even three times a day is fine. Put a few drops on each nail and massage in to the nail and cuticle. It really helps a lot.

As for a nail polish? I don't know of any which will help all that much. They really don't provide any protection to your nails. If you are going to wear any at all, then go for the good brands - OPI China Glaze, Color Club, Essie, CND. For a high gloss topcoat, nothing beats Seche Vite Dry Fast Topcoat. Very high shine, and dries fast. Takes a bit of getting used to when applying it, but its worth it. Also, it doesn't yellow like others do. Most nail techs I know of also use it. A good product. Some others use ';Out The Door.'; Its also pretty good.
eat Jello or gelatin
I use OPI Nail Envy. Or Sally Hansen has some good nail strengtheners.
file clean clean file paint
Our skin, hair, %26amp; nails are a direct reflection of our all over health. Your local cosmetologist (hair stylist/manicurist) can recommend a temporary fix as well as advise as to how your diet/exposure might be changed so you can correct the problem. More than one opinion is a wise effort.
yeah they sell nail hardner polish at beauty supply stores, or even walmart. i have some and it really works. it keeps your nails from breaking off. check the cosmetic section at the stores.
Using a nail polish can protect your nails to some extent, but it's not a miracle cure. Often, the condition of nails seems genetic - some people can grow their nails long and some can't. However, there's various ways you can improve the condition of your nails naturally.

You could try taking a 'skin, hair and nails' multi-vitamin. Yep, they really do sell things like that at the pharmacist! Also, try eating foods that contain calcuim and zinc.

When you file your nails, don't saw back and forth, but only file in one direction. Don't file your nails straight after a bath, because they break more easily when they're wet.

Use a moisturiser on your nails. You can even buy moisturisers made specifically for nails.

If you must push back your cuticles, do it very gently. I don't do this at all, it's not necessary.

Avoid nail polish removers with acetone or formaldehyde, they'll make your nails dry and brittle.

Wear rubber gloves when you wash the dishes.

And finally, if you type as much as I do, try to use the pads of your fingers on the keys instead of your nails.
